Broadcast sits and ceremonies
Hokkai Dojo, Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk will provide a series of broadcast sessions on Friday 4th/Saturday 5th December, 2020 to mark Rohatsu – the traditional celebration of the occasion of the Buddha’s Enlightenment. In view of Covid-19 restrictions, this will be an entirely ‘virtual’ event, open to those who have practised at an IZAUK dojo or attended an IZAUK sesshin.
The Rohatsu event will be directed by Zen Nun Mokurei Jan Pearse

The schedule is:
Friday
18:30-20:00 zazen & ceremony
21:30-22:10 zazen
23:30-00:10 zazen
Saturday
06:00-06:30 zazen
07:30-08:00 zazen
10:30-11:30 zazen & ceremony
Followed by Zoom coffee
Log-in details for the MIXLR and Zoom broadcasts will be provided by email after registrations are accepted.
Cost:
There is no fee for the event, but donations to IZAUK are very welcome. If you are able to, please complete the Gift Aid section which allows us to collect an additional 20% of your donation without any cost to you.
You will need:
- a quiet space of your own in which to practise
- a robe or comfortable clothing
- a zafu, bench or chair to sit on
- chant sheets for ceremonies
- Kesa Sutra
- Hannya Shingyo, Shigu Seiganmon, Ji Ho San Shi
- Eko of the Matriarchs
- Eko of the Patriarchs
- a mobile phone, tablet or computer – ideally with MIXLR and Zoom apps loaded in advance
While individual circumstances will vary, in principle those registering should intend to attend every session
