This will be a 2.5 day sesshin at Sheringham YHA in Norfolk led by Zen Nun, Maddie E Shin Parisio

Maddie E Shin ParisioMaddie E Shin Parisio started to practice in 1996 and received bodhisattva ordination from Jean Baby in 1998.

She lived as a permanent resident at La Gendronnière for one year from 2006 to 2007. Having met Philippe Reiryu Coupey – a close disciple of Master Taisen Deshimaru – she became his disciple, receiving ordination as nun from him in 2007.

Maddie is active as a respected teacher in the Sangha Sans Demeure and the British Sangha (IZAUK). She is IZAUK’s Membership Secretary. She lives in  Norwich, England.

Arrival: Friday 7th February from 16:00.

Departure: Monday 10th February from 15:00.

It is possible to stay on Monday night and leave by 10:00 Tuesday morning.

The Youth Hostel is situated in Sheringham, off the A149 Coast Road, behind St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

The Sheringham Youth Hostel is only a 5 minute walk from the Sheringham Train Station.

How to get there:

Take the train directly to Sheringham. Trains from Norwich run once an hour.

Other options include travelling via Norwich by National Express, or the very cheap MegaBus. Then travelling between Norwich and Sheringham by GreaterAnglia trains, or the X40, X44 or 44A bus services that run from central Norwich to Sheringham at regular intervals.

If you are planning to drive please check if you can share your car with others from your group.

Bring:

Dark, loose-fitting clothes for zazen and clothes for work in the kitchen, gardens, etc; a zafu if you have one (some will be available to borrow); a bowl, a spoon and fork, and a cloth (e.g. tea towel) to wrap them in, also a mug.

Unwaged: £100 (Friends); £110 (Non-members)

So that equipment and meals can be planned and to receive a £20 discount, please book before 24th January with full payment or a deposit of £25. Deposits are not normally refundable.
